Guests and visitors
Welcome to the Graduations website of the University of Melbourne.
The University has been an intellectual and cultural cornerstone of Australian society for more than 155 years, and we are proud to invite our latest graduands to join the ranks of distinguished graduates of this institution.
Students who have completed the requirements of their degree, but have not yet been formally admitted to that degree through a graduation ceremony, are known as graduands.
Guest Tickets
Each graduand is provided with three (3) guest tickets for their graduation, which they will collect at graduand registration on the day of the ceremony, and then pass on to their guests.
Additional tickets
Very occasionally, additional tickets may become available. This depends on the number of registered attendees and can only be confirmed shortly before the ceremonies commence.
Parking
Evening and weekend ceremonies
Free parking is available for guests and graduands at University Square Car Park (the entrance is on Berkeley Street off Grattan Street) and opens two and a half hours before the ceremony.
You will need to take a parking ticket from the machine at the gate to enter the car park, but the barrier will be left open once the ceremony has finished, to allow you to exit for free.
Week day ceremonies
Unfortunately there is no free parking available for guests and graduands for ceremonies held during business hours on week days.
There are a number of casual car parking options for ceremonies during these times. Please refer to the Property and Campus Services Traffic, Parking and Bicycles page for more information.

Disabled Access to the campus and Wilson Hall
Parking and drop-off
If you have a disabled guest and/or graduand in your party, please use the Grattan Street entrance(Gate 10) and inform the staff member on duty that you have a disabled guest and will need to park on campus.
Disabled guests and/or graduands can park anywhere on campus except in the spaces marked “Reserved”. There is one dedicated disabled parking space next to the roundabout on Monash Road, next to Wilson Hall.
If the disabled guest and/or graduand is not the driver, we suggest they disembark at the Wilson Hall roundabout so they have immediate access to the ramp leading to the MacFarland Court/Wilson Hall/Union House level; and the car can then be parked in the South Car Park under Wilson Hall to leave room for any other cars bringing disabled or infirm guests.
Access ramps
A ramp is located next to the steps, on the west side of the Chemistry Building. This ramp leads to MacFarland Court and Wilson Hall. An alternate ramp/path is on the east side of the Chemistry building between Chemistry and Old Geology (further up Monash Road, towards Swanston St).
Early seating
If you have a guest in a wheelchair, or using a walker, frame or cane, or who is vision-impaired, and/or who does not function well in crowded spaces, then we suggest that they come into Wilson Hall as soon as the doors open (50 minutes prior to the ceremony) so that ushers can seat them comfortably before the Hall becomes crowded.
Toilets
There is a disabled access toilet in the foyer of Wilson Hall.
